About Skinology
The face behind Skinology is Anne A. Chen. She suffered from acne throughout her youth, trying over-the-counter topical treatments and antibiotics that didn’t work. She continued to pursue solutions with dermatologists, including Accutane which required regular blood tests, and professional strength acid peels that burned her skin. Still troubled by problem skin, she tried more over the counter products, such as ProActiveTM, and learned that one product doesn’t solve everyone’s acne problems. Finally, in the 1996, she found a solution that worked for her! In addition to using our signature Enzyme Performing Anti-Acne Facial combined with topical products, she also eliminated dairy products. Her skin never looked better.

As she entered her mid-40’s, for the first time, she had to use moisturizers to her routine and combat the increasing wrinkles and aging skin. After attending the Portland Beauty School and the International Beauty Show and International Esthetics, Cosmetics and Spa Conference in Las Vegas annually, she she stays knowledgeable about the latest and greatest techniques, ingredients and services and her skin never looked more clear, youthful, and dewy. In addition, she has been personally trained in brow shaping by Damone Roberts, who is known as Eyebrow King to the Stars with clients including Oprah, Madonna, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Taraji P. Henson, Channing Tatum, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Nicki Minaj and Robert Downey Jr., to name a few.  He has a shop in Beverly Hills and also had one in New York City previously, has been named Best Eyebrows by Vogue, The New York Times, LA Times, Allure, People, InStyle, US Weekly, and USA Today. She’s excited to bring these wonderful results to you and your best face!

Anne is more than your typical licensed esthetician. She is a member of the Associated Skin Care Professionals. She earned a B.S. Business Administration from UCBerkeley, an MBA from UCLA and a CPA. She spent 10 years with Sony Pictures Entertainment (Columbia Pictures and TriStar Pictures) and Sony Computer Entertainment (PlayStation Computer Entertainment System), and was Senior VP Marketing and New Business for OMSI, one of the top 10 science museums in the nation.

She was a board member for the Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation for 9 years including 2 years as Treasurer  and was a member and served as Co-President and Secretary for Oswego Friends of Doernbecher and was been involved with non-profit fundraising for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation’s annual auction, golf tournament for 16 years concluding in 2020. In response to COVID-19, she fed 200 high quality meals to workers at Kaiser Hospital by partnering with the non-profits Frontline Foods PDX and World Central Kitchen in New York City and the catering company Plaza Del Toro.  She felt passionate about supporting the frontlines because her father was a surgeon, her mother and two aunts were nurses and her uncle was a podiatrist before they all retired.
